Welcome to Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary
Located about 55 km from Belagavi, in the Khanapur Taluk, Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary is a breathtaking forest reserve spread across 190 sq. km in the Western Ghats. Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 2011, it is named after the historic Bhimgad Fort, which stands amidst the thick forest cover.
The sanctuary is a perfect getaway for those who want to experience untouched nature, forest drives, birdwatching, and mild trekking — all away from city crowds.
